How her day works

How your field coordinator works.

You hand her a crew list. She runs the same routine on every job, every workday.

Timeline of Julia's workday. 7 AM, morning call: Julia calls your super and every foreman (concrete, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall). 3 PM, afternoon call: she calls them back, asks what got done, chases open items and notes who didn't report. 4 PM, hand-off: your PM gets a daily hand-off with what was caught today, what is still open, and what needs your decision. Each sub gets its own report. Example data.

The same electrical foreman, morning and afternoon.

Morning Call

7:14 AM · Sub electrical foreman

Julia

Good morning Bobby, it is Julia calling for HeyJulia. Quick check-in on the East Campus job. How many electricians do you have on site right now?

Bobby

Got eight guys. Should have had ten but two called out.

Julia

Got it, eight on site. Do you know why the other two are out?

Bobby

One is sick, one had a family thing. They will be back tomorrow.

Julia

What areas are you working in today and what do you expect to get done?

Bobby

We are finishing conduit rough-in on floors 3 and 4. Should get through most of the east wing today if we do not get held up.

Julia

Any deliveries today or materials you are waiting on?

Bobby

We are waiting on a conduit delivery. It was supposed to be here yesterday.

Afternoon Call

3:02 PM · Sub electrical foreman

Julia

Hey Bobby, Julia again. This morning you said you would be working on conduit rough-in on floors 3 and 4. How did that go today?

Bobby

We got through about 60% of the east wing. Not quite where I wanted to be.

Julia

What slowed you down?

Bobby

That conduit still has not showed up. We ran out of the 4-inch and had to shift guys to another area.

Julia

Logging that. About how much conduit did you install today?

Bobby

Maybe 200 linear feet. Normal day would be 350.

Julia

Same eight guys tomorrow, or any changes?

Bobby

Should have all ten back. If that delivery comes in tonight we will be in good shape.
